Lead batteries AGM
AGM, which stands for Absorbed Glass Material, means that you have absorbed the sulfuric acid in a special fiberglass material. This means that there is no liquid acid and the need to control the fluid level is gone. Another name for these batteries is valve-regulated lead-acid batteries (VRLA). Since the battery is closed, there is a safety valve that opens if the pressure inside the battery becomes too high.
The construction of these batteries is characterized by very good high current properties and high energy density. The batteries can be mounted horizontally to save space. The battery has the connections located at the front edge of the blocks, which makes them easily accessible for assembly and service. The batteries have a very low self-discharge, 3% per month, which means that they can be stored for a longer time without recharging.
The batteries of 75 Ah and 100 Ah are sold in "deep-cycle" versions, which has better performance and about 25% longer life than one in non-"deep-cycle" version. As AGM batteries can withstand cold and are maintenance-free, they are well suited as a power supply in installations that are relatively unprotected and or inaccessible.
